I Rise, U Rise, We Rise

Since 2015, RiseUp has been teaching individuals how to RiseUp internally, taking greater control of their own thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

Programme

The RiseUp course allows you to become the hero of your own story. You will learn models and techniques from a wide range of disciplines, including Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP), Transactional Analysis (TA) and Mindfulness Meditation.

You will learn why we all see the world differently and how to be OK with that, why we sometimes sabotage ourselves and how to control it, why we sometimes get into conflict and how to turn these interactions into win/win situations.

The learning is fun, engaging and creative.

We cater for all learning styles, whether you are more visual, auditory, physical or if you just like the scientific knowledge, you will love the RiseUp course. You will do things you never thought you would do, you will learn more about yourself than you ever expected, and you will finally know how to gradually become a better version of yourself.

All our practitioners are highly qualified, fully trained and very experienced. And, more importantly, they love to help others to RiseUp.

Will you dare to take on the journey, to venture through the world of the adventure, and to return with the magic potion that heals the world?

Are you ready to RiseUp?

Our Impact

Our programme is underpinned by a theory of change based on 9 intended outcomes. We support participants to progressively become self-aware; learn to understand their agency and influence in their own lives; and develop their cognitive self-efficacy in making the right choices.

Since 2021 we have been measuring impact in line with our theory of change, devised by former Professor Erik Bichard, co-founder of social value consultancy RealWorth. The qualitative and quantitative data compiled throughout each programme is designed to measure against the 9 outcomes.

Over the years we have built a strong relationship with the criminal justice department at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), grounding our work in academia. Through our impact measurement surveys, we can identify a timeline of transformation which correlates with change models, such as Fisher’s Change Curve (Fisher, 1999/2015) and the Designer’s Mindset (IDEO Design Thinking, n.d.).

The ability to measure and monitor our work to such a degree distinguishes our programme from others in this sphere.

About Us

When we started RiseUp we had no idea what it would become. All we knew was that we wanted everyone to have access to the knowledge, training and self-improvement that those in big business, politics and media have.

We always say that the first people we are helping to transform is ourselves, and running the RiseUp course has changed us as people and as a team in incredible, powerful and totally unexpected ways. RiseUp itself is also on a journey of transformation.

We developed our course in the forge of the prison estate, trying out our ideas with an audience who wouldn’t engage with anything that wasn’t real, powerful and fun. There, we discovered that the arts are best way to make learning fun and memorable. We experimented with ways of teaching models from a range of disciplines through different creative activities and developed a course that allows people to actually live The Hero’s Journey in real time.

The Hero’s Journey

There is a reason that people have told stories in the same pattern around the campfire for time immemorial. The Hero’s Journey shows us how to overcome past setbacks, grow into ever evolving versions of ourselves, and then give back to the world for the sake of others.

Story is how we make sense of the world, how we warn our children about the dangers of the world, and how we teach our teenagers to empathise with others. Stories are the way we come to terms with the crazy experience of being a human in this unfathomable universe.

So, understanding how story works is beneficial to everyone, because we are all storytellers. Owning your own story means taking back your power so that no one else can control what you think, feel and do. This is the first step to a fully empowered life. Own your own story. This is how we start to RiseUp.
